Chip deflector/mud flap
— by Craig Adams Craig Adams
The first chip flap I saw was in the late 70s built by Jack Van Dyke who raced with us on Pewaukee. Sweitzer and I copied his idea and called it a "Flap Jack" We saw more versions as time passed. I am not sure Grant was born yet when Van Dyke came up with it but his design looks good and I hope to see more of these in the fleet as it also keeps the water off of the goggles.
Thanks to Grant for sharing his design.
